RESERVATIONS are now
Required
Please follow the instructions below :
- Families requesting a RESERVATION must live in the counties of Stafford, Spotsylvania, Caroline, King George or the City of Fredericksburg.
- A Family is only helped once every 12 months. This means 12 months from your last interview date.
- Call, only on Monday morning between 7:30am-9:30am, 540-898-8065. Select line 3, to make a RESERVATION for a Thursday evening INTERVIEW during the same week.
- Please only call once. Speak clearly leaving you Name & Phone Number. Only 1 RESERVATION per call.
- Calls to line 3 will be returned in the order received by a trained volunteer from a Blocked Number on Monday. Make sure your phone will accept a blocked number.
- The Volunteer will ONLY make 3 Attempts to speak to you personally. Please be available.
- If you find you will not be able to make the INTERVIEW on Thursday, you are asked to call 540-898 -8065, select line 1. Leave a message with your name and phone number. This allows us to call the next neighbor in need of a RESERVATION. Only STVdP can do this. Failure to notify us when you miss an interview may result in penalties when you call again for a RESERVATION.
You DO NOT have a RESERVATION for an Interview until a trained STVdP phone volunteer speaks to you personally from a blocked number and tells you that you have a RESERVATION.

Please do not come to the INTERVIEW SITE without a RESERVATION.
There will be NO WALK-INS. NO EXCEPTIONS!

More you need to know if you HAVE a RESERVATION:
- Please do not bring children if at all possible.
- Anyone being interviewed will need a photo ID such as a driver's license or a passport. A bill or lease may be used to show that an individual lives in our service area. This bill or lease may be on a phone.
- If you are disabled and physically unable to attend a Thursday evening interview, you may send a signed note with a family member or trusted friend along with your bill or lease. The note should say that this person may speak with us on your behalf.
- Payments are made directly to the company or property owner. Payments are never given to the person being interviewed.
- The person being interviewed must be on the Bill or Lease and the bill must be past due. It does not have to be a cut-off notice or an eviction notice but it must be past due. The Bill or Lease may be available on a phone.
- Requests for Rental assistance must be for a current residence. The person being interviewed will have to provide the name, address, and phone number of the property owner. They will also have to notify the landlord that we will be calling. Bring Eviction notice if there is one.
- Utility bills should show the current past due balance and be in the person being interviewed name.
- We do not assist with Motels, Phone or Cable bills.
- Following an interview, it may take as long as 3 business days to make our pledge.
- For information following an interview, call 540-898-8065 as on the back of your pledge sheet. Press 2 and say, "I'm calling for the Treasurer". Leave you name, phone # and assistance promised. A returned call from a volunteer will be from a blocked phone #.
- Please remember that all of our members are volunteers doing their best to help.
- We have no paid staff or office.
